Be one of Glide's first safety operators
Glide runs on two kinds of generosity: the community that funds the rides, and the people who give them. We're building our founding group of safety operators — and we'd love for you to be one.

Every free ride Glide gives takes two kinds of generosity. One is the community that funds it. The other is the person in the car — the calm, capable human who makes sure a neighbor gets where they're going, safely and with a little dignity.
We're now looking for the first of those people. If you've got time to give and a community you care about, read on.
You're not driving in the old, white-knuckle sense — the self-driving Tesla handles the road. Your job is the human part the car can't do: greeting your rider, helping with the door and the curb, keeping a watchful eye on the trip, and being a reassuring presence from pickup to drop-off. You're the reason a ride feels less like a transaction and more like a hand extended.
Retirees with mornings to spare. Students who want their hours to mean something. Anyone who's ever thought I wish I could do more for the people around me. You don't need to be a professional driver — you need patience, warmth, and a little time. We'll take care of teaching you the rest.
And to be clear: this is volunteering, not a wage. Glide operators give their time so the ride can stay free for the people who need it. The reward is the drop-off — the appointment made, the visit kept, the independence handed back.
We're early, and we'd rather tell you that plainly than overpromise. Every operator is carefully vetted, and we're building the onboarding and rolling out area by area. So this is an invitation to raise your hand and be first in line — not a promise you'll be on the road tomorrow. When we reach you, you'll be among the first we call.
An hour of your time is rarely just an hour. It's the difference between a parent making their doctor's appointment and canceling it. Between an afternoon out and another day inside. When you give a Glide ride, you can watch that impact add up — every operator's contribution is celebrated on our community board, out in the open.
If that sounds like a way you'd want to spend some of your time, we'd be honored to have you.
